School Overview

St. Ignatius of Loyola.

Loyola High School, Bangalore, was established in 2013 and is run by the Jesuit Fathers of the Society of Jesus — a Catholic religious order founded by St. Ignatius of Loyola in 1540.

The Jesuits are globally renowned for their active role in education. In India, they have founded numerous schools and colleges as part of the Catholic Church’s mission to provide quality education. Jesuit education draws inspiration from the life and teachings of Jesus Christ, who has long been respected and admired by the people of our nation. It is also deeply rooted in the strong principles of character formation established by St. Ignatius of Loyola.

Our Vision

World-Affirming: Jesuit education recognizes God as the source of all reality, truth, and knowledge. It sees God’s presence and activity throughout creation—in nature, history, and every individual. Rooted in this belief, Jesuit education affirms the profound goodness of the world, which is “charged with the grandeur of God.” It values every aspect of creation as deserving of thoughtful study, deep reflection, and continuous discovery.

Our Mission

Jesuit education seeks to instill a sense of wonder and mystery in exploring God’s creation. It encourages the belief that a deeper understanding of creation leads to a fuller knowledge of God and a stronger desire to collaborate in His ongoing work. Courses are designed to help students, with humble awareness of God’s presence, find joy in learning and develop a lasting thirst for deeper knowledge.

Our Motto: Faith and Toil

The motto of Loyola High School, Bangalore, is FIDE ET LABORE—a Latin phrase meaning Faith and Toil. At Loyola, we are deeply committed to the spirit and values that have guided generations before us. Faith is a defining quality of humanity; it inspires dedication to God, to fellow human beings, and to the pursuit of knowledge. Toil, on the other hand, is essential for achieving any meaningful success. Together, faith and hard work form the foundation of our educational mission.
